Working with me

Good scientific illustration starts with really understanding your work. Here's how we develop our projects:

  1. Tell me about your project

Reach out with whatever you have — a manuscript draft, a rough sketch on paper, a PowerPoint diagram, or just an idea. If your vision is clear, we get to work. If you'd like to talk it through first, we can connect over a short call.

  2. Receive your quote

Based on the scope and complexity of your project, you'll receive a clear quote along with an estimated delivery timeline. Once you're happy to move forward, a formal invoice will be sent to your email — at this stage I'll ask for your lab or institution details. We'll also agree on a deposit to get started, with the remainder due on final delivery.

  3. First draft: science first, art second

I dig into your content before I touch a single visual element. The first draft is built around your data and logic, then shaped into something that's genuinely beautiful. You'll see the concept before anything is finalized.

  4. Revisions until it’s right

Every project includes up to four rounds of revisions — and if reviewers or editors come back with changes after submission, those are covered too, at no extra cost. Your feedback shapes the work; I don't consider it done until you do.

  5. Final delivery, in your format

Once you're happy, I prepare the files exactly as you need them — high-resolution TIFF, PNG, SVG, or any format your journal or publisher requires. Clean, organized, and ready to submit.
